Blended Learning: Transforming Classrooms for the Digital Age

Blended Learning: Transforming Classrooms for the Digital Age

10-23-2017 To 12-03-2017

Course Description

Today’s students are digital natives who know only a world in which they are constantly and effortlessly connected to unlimited information and people, usually with a mobile phone, tablet, or laptop computer.

How do practicing teachers use these technologies in their blended classrooms to enhance student engagement, allow for richer explorations and activities, foster collaboration inside and outside the classroom, and capture formative and summative assessments? How can we ensure that the technologies bring value to our teaching in a blended learning environment? Where do these technologies best fit into a teacher’s blended curriculum? How do we manage a blended learning classroom?

This course is designed to help practicing teachers answer these important questions. Through the use of lesson critique and redesign, in-depth readings, video analysis, and personal reflections, you will focus on the technologies that are most relevant to your school setting and how you can use these technologies to maximize effectiveness and student achievement in a blended learning environment.
